Tacos (Cali-Mex Style)

Best americanized style tacos ever. Ground beef on a corn tortilla with all the toppings.

Ingredients

Taco Filling

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 lb ground beef turkey works too

Toppings

  • 1 tomato diced
  • 4 romaine lettuce leaves chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar
  • 1/2 cup onion diced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro chopped
  • ketchup
  • red tabasco

Taco Shells

  • 20 corn tortillas crunchy or soft

Instructions

  • In a large saute pan, over high heat, add oil.
  • Once oil is shimmering, add ground beef and flatten with a spoon.
  • Sprinkle on all the seasonings.
  • Mash the ground beef with the back of a wooden spoon and stir until cooked. 5-7 minutes.
  • Assemble tacos and enjoy
