Candied Whiskey Bacon

- 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup pecans
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tbsp molasses
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tbsp whiskey
- 1 lb thick-sliced bacon
Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
Add all ingredients except bacon to the food processor. Mix for a minute until mixture becomes a paste.
Line a sheet pan with foil. Place an oven-proof cooling rack on top. Cut slab of bacon in half and place on cooling rack.
Using your fingers or the back of a spoon, spread paste in a thin layer over bacon. It doesn't have to be perfect.
Put bacon in oven for 40-50 minutes, until edges of bacon have crisped up. If they're not ready, try another 2-3 minutes in the oven. They'll continue to crisp as they cool.
